Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the Nigerian President, has died as a result of underlying respiratory implications from the coronavirus.
One of the most powerful and influential men in Africa, the Chief of Staff was reported to have contracted the coronavirus during an official trip to Germany.
It was confirmed that he had tested positive to the virus on the 23rd of March, 2020. News of his test results were delivered with hopeful messages for speedy recovery, but his underlying respiratory conditions created complications, and it was reported that he had passed away in the early hours of the 18th of April, 2020.

His absence will be greatly felt in the current administration and the continent, at large.
