Anchorage

As a Software Engineer Intern you will:
Review code across the entire stack and engineering organization while actively participating in product development.
Find the right balance between progress (i.e. shipping quickly) and perfection (i.e. measuring twice).
Influence architecture/product roadmap – have a seat at the table.
Work on the front lines of the blockchain/crypto movement and SecOps innovation.
Foster an efficient deterministic testing culture, with an emphasis on minimizing tech debt and bureaucracy.
Collaborate cross-functionally with everyone.
Ship code that will impact the global economy.
Assets Team:
Research new cryptoassets and integrate them into Anchorage Digital’s custody platform.
Implement participatory features that clients need such as staking and governance.
Develop infrastructure that scales across all crypto-networks.
Support assets through upgrades and monitor for network-wide issues.
Platform Team:
Work across multiple product lines such as Anchorage Digital Trading, Anchorage Financing, and our suite of API integrations.
Develop scalable infrastructure that serves a range of clients from bleeding edge investors to major financial institutions and Fortune 50 companies.
Build secure, resilient, and global infrastructure from the ground up!
Front-End Team:
Create and maintain intuitive web experiences for our clients and internal operations team.
Work closely with engineering leadership and product management to ensure we’re building awesome, feature-rich, scalable, and secure products.
Actively participate in product development: shipping new features, improving existing flows, and taking an active role in code reviews for the team.
Collaborate with the design team to build a reusable component library and stay consistent with our brand guidelines.
iOS Team:
Create an intuitive mobile experience that instills trust and safety!
Have ownership of the codebase and space to improve it using the latest technologies.
Security Team:
Build secure, resilient, and global infrastructure from the ground up!
Think deeply about security across the entire product ecosystem and help create a company culture that does as well.
Trading & Lending Team:
Own the build out of an institutional grade crypto trading system.
Manage engineering and design personnel to complete complex builds as they relate to trade execution, settlement, and accounting.
Continually improve the operational processes of the trading desk
Maintain relationships with our execution service providers and collaborate in build-outs and trouble-shooting.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:
You are a current Junior that will be graduating December 2022 or Spring/Summer 2023 and pursuing a Computer Science degree.
You genuinely care about code quality and test infrastructure.
You prioritize end-user experience and business value over “cool tech.”
You’re comfortable navigating environments that are constantly changing, such as a high growth startup.
You self describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail oriented, hard working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action oriented, and tenacious.
You have strong communication skills, collaborator, and relationship builder.
You’re genuinely interested in learning more about blockchain technology and the crypto industry.
Assets Team:
You have experience building complex distributed systems. We mostly use Go, however languages can be learned. We really care about your engineering skills more than any specific language or framework.
You enjoy building services from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time.
Platform Team:
You have experience building complex distributed systems.
You enjoy building services from scratch and supporting them
Front-End Team:
You have experience building web applications and supporting them
You are experienced using at least one JavaScript framework (ex. React.Js, Angular.Js, Vue.Js, Ember, etc.)
iOS Team:
You have experience building mobile applications/UI from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time.
You’re comfortable navigating Apple’s App Store at several stages in the development/product life-cycle.
You pay attention to the iOS ecosystem and you are not afraid of new concepts.
Security Team:
You have experience shipping product and implementing secure frameworks, libraries, and services.
You have an understanding of common crypto protocols (TLS, GPG, SSH, etc.), code signing, networks security, authentication/authorization, and the threat landscape for state-of-the-art attacks.
You have experience developing threat models and conducting incident response/forensics.
Trading & Lending Team:
You have experience developing trading systems, asset manager, and/or a hedge fund. (Course on Information Systems)
You’re able to clearly communicate through written reports and visual aids (charts, graphs, analysis, etc.).
You have experience with modern protocols such as gRPC, GraphQL and REST.
Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
In your mind the word “crypto” stands for cryptography, not cryptocurrency.
You have previous experience in the finance industry.
You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. These are the tech stacks that the various engineering teams utilize:
Backend Tech: Go, C, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vault, GCP, AWS, and GraphQL.
Frontend Tech: JavaScript, ReactJS, Flow, CSS Modules, Webpack, Jest, and Cypress.
Mobile Tech:  Swift, RxSwift, CocoaPods, and Secure Enclave.
Engineering methodologies: Reverse uptime, cryptographically linked data models, tamper resistant ledgers, air gapped infrastructure, secure execution environments, repeatable builds, and infra-as-code.
